Finding your Passion

Seize the moment

Finding your passion is never too late. Sometimes you just have to press the pause button, self reflect and create the life you desire. Jamerican, 9 of 13 siblings, charting a course of creative exploration of reflection of life past, present and future. Artistic expression has been a life long desire, since my youth in Jamaica, West Indies. The daughter of a Photographer and Dressmaker, instilled in me the creativity to see things in a different light. However, to emerge from poverty and migrate to America, I diverted my attention to making a living, but Art was always a central part of expressing my emotions and provided a path for escape and reflection. It wasn’t until I had a concussion in 2017, that in order to heal, it required me to spend less time in front of a computer, TV or cell phone. So, I returned in full force to my passion for art, recreating the joyful memories that haunted me from my childhood in Jamaica. My childhood nickname, Kaya head, which was a reference to my wild and untamed hair in my youth, is used as the signature on my Kreations.

My artistic journey has since expanded into trying different mediums, techniques and genres, building on my early foundations to continue my artistic explorations. Come follow me on this self reflection through artistic expression, charting a new path with Kaya Kreations.

Current Member of Ridgefield, Stamford Guild of Artists, Arts and Culture Center Hollywood, Florida, with several pieces accepted into juried shows.
